On this Explore Guatemala trip, your group will wander through the charming cobblestone streets of this historic city, visit ancient ruins and vibrant markets, and hike the scenic trails of Pacaya Volcano. Engage with the local community through local ministries including activities with children, community engagement, and light construction and beautification projects. ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
- Depart from home & travel to Antigua, Guatemala
- Meet your JE Tour Director at the airport & transfer to your hotel
- Dinner
- Orientation meeting to wrap up the evening
DAY 2: ANTIGUA
- Breakfast at your hotel
- Depart for a tour of Antigua & learn about its history and culture
- Lunch in the city
- Spend your afternoon continuing to explore the cobblestone streets of Antigua & time for souvenir shopping
- Evening cooking class where you will learn to cook a traditional Guatemalan meal for dinner
- Return to hotel for devotions
DAY 3: MINISTRY DAY
- Breakfast at your hotel
- Meet up with our local ministry partners to learn about their impact in the local community & spend the day serving alongside them
- Service opportunities may include working with children through sports camps, beautification of the community, and minor construction projects
- Lunch and dinner at the ministry site
- Return to hotel for devotions
DAY 4: ADVENTURE DAY
- Breakfast at your hotel
- Choose between zip lining in the Guatemalan rainforest OR exploring more of the Guatemalan countryside by visiting Lake Atitlan
- Lunch
- Afternoon time to explore additional souvenir/tourist sites
- Dinner
- Return to hotel for devotions
DAY 5: VOLCANO HIKE
- Breakfast at your hotel
- Depart for a day of hiking the Pacaya Volcano where you will hike towards the summit for incredible views of Antigua and other surrounding volcanoes
- Lunch and dinner
- Return to hotel for lights out
DAY 6: TRAVEL DAY
- Breakfast at hotel
- Check out of hotel & depart for airport for your journey home
