OVERVIEW

Experience the best Ecuador has to offer on our Best of Ecuador experience! Be on two continents at once at the Middle of the World Monument, soak up local culture in Quito’s Historical district, enjoy the thermal Hot Springs in Banos, get a closer look at snow-capped volcanoes on an Ice Train Tour in Riobamba, and more! Your group will be amazed at all Ecuador has to offer.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY

Travel to Ecuador and met your JE tour director at the airport.
Your group will then transfer by bus to the Hotel.
Check-in, and then have a brief orientation before lights out. (Most of the flights arrived late at night)

DAY 2: EXPLORE HISTORICAL CITY OF QUITO / TELEFERICO / MIDDLE OF THE WORLD MONUMENT

Breakfast and devotions
A morning of sightseeing at the Historical Centre of Quito!
Take a sky tram “Teleferico,” up the mountain to over 12,000 ft. to have an amazing view of Quito, and enjoy some hiking before returning.
Lunch
Visit the Middle of the World monument and the local marketplace for some shopping.
Dinner in town will conclude the day.

DAY 3: COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK / BANOS DOWNTOWN / HOT SPRING

Breakfast and devotions
This morning, your group will be exploring the highest active volcano on earth, when you visit Cotopaxi National Park! There are a variety of vegetation zones within the park, with around 200 plant species and abundance of animal life.
After an amazing hike at the base of this unique snow-capped volcano, your group will transfer to Banos; a charming City, south of Quito.
Check in into your hotel.
Enjoy the Thermal Hot Springs at sunset.

DAY 4: ZIP LINING / WATERFALL / TOWN SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, you’ll start a unique, unforgettable experience by zip lining through different canyons and beautiful foliage.
Lunch
Later that afternoon, take a slight hike to the spectacular, La Virgen waterfall!

DAY 5 & 6: MINISTRY DAYS

Breakfast and devotions
The following days are part of a great ministry opportunity to serve the needs of the people of Cajabamba. Each morning there will be different works projects at the villages for your group

In the afternoons, your group will provide a VBS program for the children in the community.

DAY 7: RETURN HOME

Today, it will be time to catch your flight home.

OPTIONAL – Make it an 8-Day tour by adding a visit to the Chimborazo National Park!

Breakfast at hotel
Take the Ice Tour Train to get closer to this magnificent snow-capped volcano (*This excursion is offered only on the weekend – Sat/Sun*)
Chimborazo’s peak is the farthest point on the Earth’s surface from the Earth’s core.
Your group will have lunch in the community of La Moya
Then return back to the city of Riobamba before departing for Quito
