Costa Rica House Build
The Joshua Expeditions House Build Program, known as Fortaleza (meaning “Strong”), gives groups the opportunity to build a home for a family in the community of Pavas, Costa Rica.
A House Build is about so much more than construction. In just three days, students go from standing on a concrete foundation to placing the keys to a brand-new home into a family’s hands. The joy and gratitude on a family’s face is something that truly has to be experienced to understand.
You don’t have to be a contractor or have previous building experience to participate. Through teamwork, students of all ages can come together to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
But the impact goes far beyond a new home. Each build creates an opportunity to build relationships, strengthen the community, and share the love of Jesus. As families receive a home, they also experience the kindness of people who came simply because they felt called to serve. Our prayer is that through these acts of love, families will come to know Christ and make Him the center of their lives.
The relationships formed between groups and families are truly special. From adding the final touches that make a house a home to sharing laughter, stories, and memories, these experiences leave a lasting impact on everyone involved.
It’s not just about building a house. It’s about building relationships, strengthening a community, and sharing the love of Jesus.
Want to Make a Difference?
You don’t have to travel to make an impact! You can help support the JE House Build Program through a financial donation toward the cost of a home.
**The current cost to build a home is $5,000. Donations of building materials and tools are also welcome and help make these projects possible.
