OVERVIEW
Did you know Costa Rica is one of the greenest countries in the world? This small country covers 0.03% of the surface of the earth but hosts 6% of the world’s biodiversity. Come recognize God’s design first hand as you hike through the rainforest, explore caves, learn about volcanic activity, snorkel in the Pacific Ocean and more! This Science in Costa Rica experience is sure to bring science to life in a real and tangible way.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
- Arrive and meet your JE Tour Director at the Costa Rica Airport
- Head up the mountain to a local coffee plantation and enjoy your first cup of Costa Rica coffee and a great view (if time allows – depending on flight)
- Check into hotel
- Dinner at local restaurant
- Devotions
DAY 2: WHITE WATER RAFTING / FORTUNA
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Load the bus and transfer north to the Puerto Viejo/Sarapiqui region
- White water rafting on the Sarapiqui River
- Lunch
- Transfer to Fortuna
- Check into hotel
- Dinner at local restaurant

DAY 3: CAVING / FORTUNA WATERFALL / NIGHT HIKE
- Breakfast at hotel
- Caving
- Lunch
- Hike down to the Fortuna Waterfall
- Dinner at local restaurant
- Night hike in the nocturnal rainforest with a bilingual naturalist guide
- Devotions
DAY 4: HANGING BRIDGES / NATURE HIKE / HOT SPRINGS
- Breakfast at hotel
- Hanging bridges with a bilingual naturalist guide
- Lunch
- Hike to the base of the volcano with a bilingual naturalist guide
- Dinner at local restaurant
- Visit the hot springs

DAY 5: CANOPY ZIP-LINE / OX CART FACTORY
- Breakfast at hotel
- Check out of hotel
- Canopy (zip-line experience)
- Lunch at local restaurant
- Souvenir shopping in Sarchi at the local Ox Cart Factory

- Check into hotel

DAY 6: MINISTRY
- Breakfast at hotel
- Full day of ministry with one of JE’s local partners
- Return to hotel

DAY 7: CATAMARAN CRUISE
- Catamaran Cruise (all day activity)
