ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
- Depart the US
DAY 2: ARRIVE IN CAIRO, EGYPT
- After traveling all day, your group will arrive in Cairo in the evening
- Dinner
- Check into hotel
DAY 3: CAIRO
- Breakfast
- Explore the Coptic Quarter of Cairo
- Visit the Church of the Virgin Mary and the Church of Saint Sergius and Bacchus, built on the site where Mary & Joseph were believed to have taken baby Jesus during their flight to Egypt
- Lunch
- Visit The Mosque of Ibn Tulun, one of the oldest mosques in Egypt
- Dinner
DAY 4: ALEXANDRIA
- Breakfast
- Take a coach ride up to Alexandria
- Visit the catacomb of Kom Elshokafa, the largest Roman burial site in Egypt
- Lunch
- Proceed to the Fortress of Quitbay, built in the 14th century at the same place as the Pharos lighthouse (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World)
- Make a stop to see the modern-day Library of Alexandria
- Return to Cairo (or Wadi, depending on the season)
- Dinner
DAY 5: LUXOR
- Breakfast
- Catch an early morning flight to Upper Egypt
- Embarkation before lunch
- Visit Karnak & Luxor Temples
- Dinner on board & overnight in Luxor
DAY 6: LUXOR & EDFOU
- Breakfast
- Visit the West Bank including the Valley of Kings & Queens Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari & Colossi of Memnon
- Lunch on board
- Sail towards Edfou via Esna Lock
- Dinner & overnight in Edfou
DAY 7: KOM OMBO & ASWAN
- Breakfast
- Visit Horus Temple
- Sail to Kom Ombo
- Lunch on board
- Visit Sobek Temple
- Sail to Aswan
- Dinner on board & overnight in Aswan
DAY 8: ASWAN
- Breakfast
- Visit the High Dam & Philae Temple
- Lunch
- Catch a return flight back to Cairo
- Dinner
DAY 9: CAIRO
- Breakfast
- Visit the Pyramids
- Lunch
- Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum
- Shopping in the market
- Dinner
DAY 10: TRAVEL DAY
- Depart for the US
- Arrive back in the US usually on the same day as departure
