Meet Mira, a young woman in Nepal who received rescue and restoration through our amazing partner ministry ODI.

Mira’s father abandoned her mom and her three sisters. Things got worse when their mom was nearly murdered by her uncle and disabled by the stab wound. Their family depended heavily upon the help of others, so being the oldest child, Mira quit going to school for many years. Instead, she worked to help her sisters and mother survive. Mira was desperate to have a better life.

Someone told Mira about an opportunity to travel to India for a good paying job. When she crossed the border & encountered individuals from our partners in Nepal, they discovered that this invitation to India was actually a trap into human trafficking. Mira was taken to a safe house and was able to start classes to complete Grade 8. She learned useful job skills and was hired to work as a local seamstress. Now, Mira has the chance to study, work hard at a good job, and more importantly, is back home safe with her family!
