Answering The Call of God: Food For The Children

ANSWERING THE CALL: FOOD FOR THE CHILDREN

On a recent visit from one of our missionary partners to the McKinney headquarters, the Joshua Expeditions staff learned of a great need at an orphanage that we serve in Guatemala. Children are going hungry, sometimes with nothing more than a corn tortilla for dinner. Since learning of this need, our CEO, Amir Mahadi, has become burdened by the story and is convinced that the Joshua Expeditions community can do something to help. Certainly, this is not the only orphanage with such a situation!

What You Should Know

Children around the world – even in our own backyard – go to sleep hungry every night. In fact, many of them are starving. According to the USDA, over 16 million children did not have the security of food in their households in 2010*. Joshua Expeditions is committed to doing our part in bringing that number down in communities around the world.

It’s very simple: we have too many resources to allow such a need to go unnoticed. Each year thousands of Joshua Expeditions clients give selflessly to serve people across the globe. Additionally, JE uses a percentage of our income to equip missionaries in meeting specific needs like site repairs, home construction, and children’s camps. It’s time to do much more!

How We Can Help

Beginning this season, Joshua Expeditions will provide a week’s worth of meals to an orphanage for every group that travels with us. In essence, when your group travels to any JE destination, children at one of the orphanages we serve will receive a week of nutritious meals because of your decision. There will be no additional cost to you, but the benefits to the children will be immeasurable.
